For eyeshadow, anything neutral should be a safe bet, probably a trio, quad, or palette that comes with instructions. Also I feel like my knowledge on makeup is very limited. That was around the age I started to wear very minimal makeup. My mom got me a few things that were very age appropriate but also made me feel very grown up: a rosy tinted lip balm, a sheer blush, and a shimmery pinkish nude eye shadow. At that age, I would probably focus on sheer makeup that enhances her youthful glow. I started wearing beginner makeup around that age, it was more of a little confidence booster than anything else! Its all just trial and error in the end. I don't think she "needs" eyeliner or eyeshadow yet, but stick with neutral colors if she gets stuck on the eyeshadow. This is E's fresh tween makeup kit, shopped from her own stash (and maybe a bit of her mum's). I had a blush, a few sheer lipsticks/glosses, an eyelash curler and mascara. My 12 year old daughter has asked for makeup for Christmas. Teach her about the importance of removing her makeup before bed no matter how tired she is, and that she should be cleaning her face regularly as well, especially if she wears any face product. They aren't really dark and dramatic because they're cheaper, but they should be dark enough for her as a beginner. Help her figure out how to shape them without going overboard. She's started to be a lot more aware of her appearance over the past few months including asking me to pluck her eyebrows (which she has taken to calling squirrel tails). I don't know of any makeup classes like that but you can always search for tween/teenage appropriate makeup tutorials on youtube.

My First Makeup … I wouldn't be opposed to some everyday blush shades either. Elf has a setting powder that I use to this day. If I had a daughter, I like to think I would tackle the skincare routine issue before getting into makeup. They're cheap beginners makeup, but they're still products that I use as well.
